Coin collectors heaven

One of the commonest gold coins of the reign of George III is the `spadeĀ’ guinea.
These coins, struck between 1787 and 1799 are so named because of the spade-like
shield that is used as the reverse design. Many brass counters exist, made in
imitation of the spade guinea, and bear such inscriptions as IN MEMORY oF
THE GOOD OLD DAYS. These have been made for use at card games.
